The PRISM Network Conference 2026, Digital PRISMs, digital research, will take place on 25 November 2026 at King’s College London, bringing together Professional Research Investment and Strategy Managers (PRISMs) to explore the changing skills and knowledge needed to support increasingly digital research environments.

The conference is supported by DisCouRSE funding, helping to make in-person attendance free and providing a small number of bursaries of up to £200 to support travel, accommodation, subsistence and disability- or care-related costs.

Connecting digital research communities

The event is particularly relevant to DisCouRSE’s work around developing skills, knowledge and communities for digital research. Throughout the day, participants will explore how digital approaches are changing research investment and management, including areas such as digital research infrastructure, big data, digital outputs, accessibility and sustainability.

The programme will combine talks, peer learning and interactive sessions, giving PRISMs an opportunity to share experiences and develop practical approaches they can take back to their own institutions.

The conference will also include a skills showcase featuring PRISMs working across different areas of digital research, followed by an interactive session focused on career development and identifying the skills participants may want to develop next.

DisCouRSE satellite event

DisCouRSE is also supporting activity around the conference through a satellite event taking place on 24 November 2026 at King’s College London.

Organised by the King’s Digital Lab, the PRISM–digital Research Technical Professional (dRTP) Focus Group is an advanced practitioner workshop exploring the interface between PRISMs and digital research technical professionals.

The workshop will use practical cases and facilitated exercises to help participants develop approaches that can be applied to live research projects. It is aimed at PRISMs who already work with digital research specialist teams, or who are looking to develop their experience in this area. Supporting the digital research community

By supporting the PRISM Network Conference, DisCouRSE is helping create opportunities for research professionals to build digital skills, exchange knowledge and strengthen connections across the research community.

The conference is open to all, with PRISM Network members receiving priority for in-person attendance.
